“My work consists of daily mundane scenes and lanky characters, often with perplexed expressions and dated hairdos, sitting behind computers or sipping coffee,” says London-based illustrator Martina Paukova. “I like to to explore and mould the everyday, the awkward and bendy.” Martina’s work has rocketed in popularity in the last year or so, seeing her create humorous, jam-packed images in a trademark palette and Memphis-inspired patterns for an increasingly impressive list of clients. Previously Martina studied politics in Slovakia before changing tack to go and study illustration at Camberwell College of Arts. She now spends her days on various editorial and commercial commissions. Keen to get her work off the printed page, Martina is interested in textile design, fashion and 3D to bring her creations to life.
