Finland-born illustrator Minni Havas creates stunning, photo-realistic artwork from Berlin, working with a variety of materials to create dream-like portraiture and illustration reminiscent of glossy fashion illustration. “By drawing and painting I make detailed pictures with magical colours and arrangements somewhere in the borderlands of the real and the imaginary,” says Minni. Her dexterous draughtsmanship means the illustrations she creates can be applied to pretty much everything, but at the moment she’s interested in patterns and textile design. “Even though you see many portrait-like images in my portfolio, I'm more into the atmosphere and subtle emotions and feelings than portraying just a pretty face,” she says. “In other words I'm interested in the feeling and the story of the image, which also applies to my pattern designs.” Her use of pencil and stark talent keep a huge range of clients repeatedly returning to her to snatch some of her truly remarkable work.
