Toni Halonen is an ex-architect turned illustrator, graphic designer and DJ. His striking, pared-down illustrations are defined by bright and bold colours. Toni started out designing posters for various club nights that were plastered on the streets of his hometown. Since then his work has been featured in numerous books and online publications, such as The Creative Review, It’s Nice That, Juxtapoz, and Design Inspiration.
“Drawing photorealistically is the most boring thing ever — I like a rougher and more personal style in art and illustration. The honesty of children’s drawings is pure gold. I strive for the same kind of freedom in my own work.”
Toni's work for Kenzo was recently selected as one of the Design Museum's Designs of the Year 2015.
