Luscious watercolours and swooping cartography from Helsinki illustrator and designer Eili-Kaija Kuusniemi.
Working with one of the most unforgiving mediums, Eili-Kaija is something of an expert in the watercolour world. Her nostalgic scenes explore the visual attributes of family, worldly cuisine, and cluttered old maps and books. An Aalto University School of Arts, Design and Architecture graduate, Eili-Kaija developed her style to include pencil crayons and inks, allowing the adventurous spirit of the line to take her on an unknown voyage. With an MA in graphic design, Eili-Kaija can design as well as illustrate, evident in her more detailed work for fashion clients and cartography. Her loose, feminine style can appeal to nearly everyone but has found its home predominantly in editorial commissions and brands looking for a touch of cheerful loveliness.
