Helsinki native artist Janine Rewell creates fluid, vector illustrations infused with flora and fauna inspired by her native Finland, geometric shapes, and gleeful characters. Honing her craft at the highly-regarded Rhode Island School of Design, she creates her metallic, shapeshifting images and typography at her studio in Helsinki for an intriguing range of clients. “My specialty is mixing and exploring different media and constantly trying to stretch over categories,” Janine says. “I’ve developed my style to serve all kinds of clients and commissions, from art to commercial projects, and I like to see my illustration taking over three-dimensional shapes.” While her compositions fit perfectly into editorial illustration briefs for publications such as The Wall Street Journal and The Times, they also feel perfectly at home for large fashion and beauty corporations: brightening up window displays, ad campaigns, objects, and wrapping paper.
