“Nothing beats getting to know a client over many years by doing projects based on building trust in each other,” says Norwegian designer and illustrator Magnus Voll Mathiassen (better known as MVM). Magnus’ portfolio is predominantly portrait-based, working with block colors and graphic shapes to highlight facial shadows and individual characteristics. He also experiments with mixed media, such as handmade and digital collages, while always sticking firmly to finding grace by stripping subjects back to their bare minimum. Magnus founded Grandpeople Studio in 2005 and has since created an enviable and unique body of work that appeals to clients and projects across the board, from publishing to sportswear brands to music.
