A self-professed “cliché of the annoying Parisian hipster,” illustrator, animator, and art director Tom Goyon divides his time between riding his bike to a veggie coffeeshop from where he works and working on digital projects all day while listening to folk music. “I’m very lucky to have amazing creative friends in a city with a vibrant art community,” he says, “so when my workday is over, I can find a million ways to stay inspired.” Tom loves working on fashion, lifestyle, and branding projects that have a strong narrative or are meaningful in some way. He’s an illustrator, first and foremost, but he works often with animation studios, creating character designs and film concept art. His strengths lie in his style, which sits somewhere between naivety and adulthood and is reminiscent of the sublime beauty of Studio Ghibli. “I’ve always drawn digitally, and I love the possibilities it offers me,” he explains. “I care about combining my love for strong colors and good stories with colorful takes on people in everyday life. I feel like I’m always ready for a creative challenge.”
